Baby Guessing

Mrs. Sims Let us guess how much her Baby, Leo would weigh,how long he’d be and what time he’d be born. whoever is closest gets a prize ( we don’t know  what it will be).

This past few weeks our class had a Halloween party, we did a lot of cool games and activities. We went in the gym and did a game where you put a stuffed pumpkin put it on your head and walk on a line and if u drop it then u have to go back to your line and try again and we had to race the boys and of course the girls won the next game we did was got a fake bat and we had to throw it up and clap three times and catch it if we didn't catch it then we have to go back and try again my team won. Then when we were done  we went to the classroom, all of us took a leafs that Kaden got for all of us, Then, we put it under our papers, and took a crown and colored over it,  and we  made little faces with the leafs then we took little goggle eyes and made mouths Holly gave all of us candy bags and when we were done with our party we went out to recess and had a good time.

Bird feaders

Today we hung up bird feeders on the outside of are window. Where hoping to see a bird or two before the end of the week. We took a five minute break from reading to hang up the bird feeders.  When ever we where filling up the bird feeders we saw a frog we tried to catch it but it went in the ground. One of the bird feeders wasn't working so we didn't hang it up. After that we took a picture of us by the bird feeder. We had to have the janitor fix it so we took it to the janitor she fixed it but we had to wait to hang it up,because it was are lunch time. We took a braek from writing to hang up the other bird feeder. Once it was hung up we took another picture. We had fun hanging up the bird feeders.

Grandparents Night

On grandparents night I went with my stepsister me and my grandparents . So when you go to the book fair it's pretty big I got something and my stepsister did too. So when you went to Mrs.Sims class you had to ask them some really hard questions not really but you ask something like ,when was I born , what was my first pet and stuff like that. I had fun I got a book and spent time with my grandparents.

Circuits

A couple of weeks ago we got to make simple circuits that involved one battery, a lightbulb, and two wires. We learned that for a circuit to work you must have a complete loop. It was very fun to learn about circuits and how they work. Some people struggled at first but eventually everybody knew how to complete a simple circuit.

It helped us learn about and how to make circuits when we actually got to make them ourselves. It's a lot more fun to learn science when we get to do a lot of hands on stuff like making circuits. We also learned about complex circuits and how they work. I think making the circuits helped people learn.

Once we completed the simple circuits we were given a couple different items and we learned about insulators and conductors. We got to see which items conducted and which items insulated. Most wood and rubber stuff insulated and most metal stuff conducted. It was a lot of fun.

Last friday we had our fall party it was a lot of fun. We sang, We ate, We played.
First we headed to the gym area to play a dress up relay race after are fun game we came back to the class for some karaoke alot of people sang a variotie of songs it was fun. After our songs we had a good snack of cookies,Whipcream, Gram crackers,and surup it was a wonderfull party.

Sharing a Video

I found the marco polo video because i have this app called '' The Weather Channel''. i was looking what the weather would be like that day so i know to wear jeans or shorts, but i scrolled to for and saw this video about if marco polo discovered america and i thought about school because we were we talking about that stuff so i watched it and the next morning i tell my teacher, Mrs.Sims about it see told me to text her the video and show the class so i did.

2nd day of school and a new blogger

Hello my name is Jaedha. And today I am the blogger and this is my first time. I will try as hard as I can to add more too the blog and I hope you like my ideas.

Moth in Action

Today Mrs.Sims class released a beautiful moth called Polyphemus! Before we released it had to go through a cycle called metamorphasis. The Polyphemus moth spends most of its life as a caterpillar! A cocoon is like a dressing room for the moth, about a month later, it turned into this beautiful moth like we thought it would. First we kept it in a big butterfly inclosure for a day so it would get used to its new body. The next day, (today) we let it go in our school garden with gorgeous flowers. We had a little trouble getting it out of its inclosure, but it finally let Mrs.Sims pick it up, it then fluttered on a flower and looked comfortable. Mrs.Sims class went inside and started learning again.  8)

Polyphemus Moth Hatched!!!

So, today our Polyphemus moth hatched! It is gigantic! Mrs.Sims walked in to class and saw that it hatched, so she called David over and because they only live for 2 to 4 days, they decided to let it go. They brought it outside and it sat limp on Mrs.Sims hand. They thought it was dead, but they decided to keep it so the class could see. But when Mrs.Sims came in this morning, it was fluttering around in the cage! And we noticed eggs in the cage! We are going to let it go today if the weather clears up.

Ball Experiment

Yesterday we did a ball bouncing experiment where we dropped different balls from 100 cm and measured the height they bounced. It was so we could learn the scientific method, which is: question, hypothesis, experiment, conclusion. So we taped three pieces of paper together, then set up a meter stick, and then dropped four different types of balls from 100 cm and recorded how high they bounced. We had a lot of fun doing it!

Coconut Fail

Today. Mrs.Sims class cracked open a fresh Coconut. At least we thought it was fresh! We were going to get to taste it.

 

Mrs.Sims tried to crack open the coconut with a screwdriver which kind of worked, then we slammed a Rock into it then had a small crack on it so we came up with a idea to throw the Coconut on the floor, But not too hard that it would spill so we gave it a shot and it split but for some reason it didn't spill.

 

We soon pryed the Coconut opened and BAM, there was mold inside of it. If you look at the picture under you can see what it looked like!  It was green, black, and a little blue! When we peeked inside it was foggy, yes foggy.

 

So we did not get to try any coconut today. :( Well, it is April Fools Day!

Trix

This is the bunny that we are doing for leadership day. Our class saying for this rabbit is, Silly Rabbit 7 Habits Are For Kids. This bunny is from Trix Are For Kids, but instead we did it for our seven habits that we use each in everyday. Our class is so excited for leadership day because..... This bunny is going to be a big hit!!!
