Predicting The Peeps

Today our class got to do experiments using peeps and it was amazingly peep-tastic. At first we got a packet and we had some what of an idea what we were doing. We had to use our five senses to basically describe the peeps. First we looked at the peep, secondly we smelled the peep, thirdly we listened to the peep, fourthly we felt the peep and then we tasted the peep. Once we ate the whole peep we then had to describe the shape, texture, color, taste, and the size of the peep. Later we made our own definition of peeps then we wrote down the dictionary definition. After that we mixed the best of both definitions and created an awesome definition. It was fun to go over the five senses and observe the peeps. It was much better than any regular old lesson.

Middle school tour!

Today fith grade went to the middle school so we could get a tour of where everything was and how going to middle school isn't that bad. One of the 6th graders gave us a speech about class periods,  how our lockers work, and locker numbers and combinations. Plus they talked about how gym works and how you don't get homework unless you don't get your assignments done in class. they also said "if you choose not to do your work in class it becomes homework." They talked about how if you are new during the middle of the year they have certain people that give them a tour and they also said that if your a 6th grader for the first 2 weeks it's ok if you are tarty. so we learned about going to middle school and how fun it might be so we won't get scared about going next year.

Springtime Math

Today we decided it was too nice to stay indoors, so we stuck out for some math in the sunshine.

We played "snake" with sidewalk chalk, bing/bang/bonk, and got to quiz our friends with flash cards, all while soaking in some rays!

WELCOME SPRING! We're happy you're here!

Opportunity Cost Sundaes

For this activity, we each got $5.00 worth of classroom money. Each of the stuff you could put on our sundae cost "money." First we had to plan what you wanted on it and write it on a chart. Next, you would get in line and wait. Then, when it was your turn you would tell Mrs. Sims what you wanted on it. Finally after that, you'd sit down and enjoy your master piece sundae. Mine was so good and I could barely eat during lunch! -Aneysha

Market Day

Classroom market

we had a classroom market today. Its like when you bake,or color, or even make a type of craft.
Some of the selling things were.........

                    Paper Airplanes
                    Cupcakes
                    Stress Balls
                    Cookies and
                    Book Marks

We were praticeing for school of economics for the profit of the money and how
we handle it and keep control of our money. The one how had the most money in our class was olivia. Shes the one who had the stress balls, and i guess everyone wanted one.But this is supost to teach you how sell your products and what price to put on them. So this is how it worked half of the class went out and opened there stand. And got ready to sell. While the other half
got 5 dollars from Mrs.Sims to go spend.

After the time was up we switched and the other half of the class got to go sell and spend. but the key to this whole thing is not to spend at once because you have not got to other stores yet and you might wont something but then again you dont have money. The highest amount of money spent was 30 dollars by olivia. And this was called Classroom Market.

Drills

When we have a  fire drill we get in a straight and quit line, then we walk out to the nearest door that leads us outside. We go as far away as possible from the school, we then do attendence,  when we get done with attendence the teacher holds up a green sign. The special teachers come around to check the lines and make sure everything is good. Then they yell "good job guys!" We then go back to our classrooms and go on with our day.

Grandparents Night

On grandparents night I went with my stepsister me and my grandparents . So when you go to the book fair it's pretty big I got something and my stepsister did too. So when you went to Mrs.Sims class you had to ask them some really hard questions not really but you ask something like ,when was I born , what was my first pet and stuff like that. I had fun I got a book and spent time with my grandparents.
