Kahoot!!

Our class plays a game called Kahoot.it. It is a website to help kids have a fun time and get class time done! In the game a teacher can make up games like learning fractions and then the teacher will make questions for that specific topic then make up answers to help kids learn. at the end whoever gets the most points wins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the kids position is they will  to amswer questions and they have 4 choices when its correct you will get 100 points. they wil have 100 seconds to answer the question then times up. 3.............2..............1..............0!!!!! now go play Kahoot @ www.Kahoot.it!!!

Donut Party

Hi I'm telling you about the donut party after we finished the M.A.P test. We ate donuts while waching Toy Story and it was fun. We had pillows, bean bags and comfy chairs we all got along greatly we all sat on the floor.

Measurement

During one of the days when we had the MAP test we got to do an expeirement. Everybody got a partner, we had to measure all sorts of stuff from measuring how long one floor tile is to measuring the distance between a fourth grade classroom to a third grade classroom. Some groups had to stop for a while so everybody else could catch up, it took a while to get there but everybody made it! We learned that instead of sliding the tape measurer we could just flip it over and over. At the end we had to multiply 152 with how many we measured, it's fun to be able to do fun hands on stuff like that so we can learn through activities. Everybody just loves doing stuff like that and it's a lot more fun to do activities instead of reading it out of a book and then doing a worksheet because we actually get to experience and see it happen with our own eyes. Mrs.Sims is really good at making learning fun for everyone.

MAP Testing

Everybody stresses out over MAP testing and they make it a big deal, well it's not a big deal and there's no reason to stress out. MAP testing is finally over. We got to have snacks, watch cartoons, and just relax before we took the MAP test each and every day. This was our first time doing science which some people were afraid of but it wasn't bad at all. The MAP test doesn't even matter that much, all that matters is that you do your best and work hard. We got some MAP buddies which everybody enjoyed. The MAP test is just a bunch of questions, that's all it is. Some people enjoy because it gets them out of learning but it's just a big test.

Launchers

               

    We made launchers with parnters, in science with popsicle sticks. 

and launched them with diffrent items like noddles, beans, cotton balls, puff balls, and gum balls. It was a fun day. some of us had to go out in the hall way and shoot becauase there was not a lot of room and we kept running in to each other. But the supplies we used were popsicle sticks, hot glue, rubberbands, a plastic spoon, and a sharpie to write how far they went. We put names on it after we were done we had to graph it on a line graph. It was reallly fun!

It was to teach us about mass and how far something will go if it has less mass or more mass. After our expieriment we got to compare our results with other peoples to see how well we all did.  In my opinion we had a lot of fun doing fun expieriments with Mrs.Sims because we get to have fun and learn at the same time. I love doing experiments like that because they are more hands on than just reading it out of a book and doing a work sheet. We got to take home our launchers so we could do our own experiments and play with them. Overall, everybody enjoyed building launchers and doing the experiment.

Leadership Day

Hi I'm am sharing about leadership day, on leadership day I was in a room and with my friends and we were doing a speech and the parents were asking questions and we answered but no one really had questions so we sat there for like five minutes doing nothing. But it was fun and I think we answered some of there questions while we were doing our speech. So I think everyone had a good time.i hope if they really did have questions they would ask.

One day after school my mom received a text from Mrs. Sims and she didn’t like the mural that was there before and so she asked my mom if she could bring me in to school a little bit earlier than usual and so we were on our way to school and my mom told me "Mrs. .Sims sent me a text last night and asked if you would sketch out the new mural on the wall and help paint it and everything". Of course I said yes so we got there and I went to find Mrs. Sims and gave me an idea of what they wanted I immediately started working on it, it looked great and in about a week we got it done and it looked good it was done the day before leadership day. Now it is going to be there forever it is painted in the door way of the 5th & 4th grade hallway.
